There are so many classical pergola rafter tails sizes you can draw.
I have shown here ones for widths from 4" [102mm]
Look at the 6" width example to make sure you understand.
Then select the width size for your project and draw it yourself.
Take "w" to mean rafter width. The top horizontal line is 3xw =3x6 = 18".
The short vertical lines are w/4 = 6/4 = 1 1/2"
Other two lines w=6".

Now It's Your Turn.
1) Look through the diagrams below and make your width choice.
2) Draw the "Outline" for your width choice. You may need to glue several sheets of A4. And make sure your shape fits the paper.
To do this draw in the order below and you will be fine.
Draw the top horizontal line A to B and then to C first. Then draw the left line A to F to E and to D.
Draw a feint line from C to D.
3) Draw the circle on card using the radius of your choice. Cut the circle out and move the card into Position 1.
Draw the arc. Change to position 2 and do the same.

I'm wondering why you chose the default widths? The rafters I'll be using are 2 by 8, 2 by 6 and 2 by 4. These sizes are standard. Will the default templates work for me?
